About Me
I'm Alastair Brunton — software developer, product builder, and CTO at Createview AS, where I focus on technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of scalable software systems with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
I build open-source libraries, run production services, and create SaaS products that solve real-world problems — from computer vision pipelines to hardware BOM management.
Products
OsloVision
A collection of practical computer vision tools and services. OsloVision includes paddle-ocr-http (an HTTP API wrapper around PaddleOCR 3 / PP-OCRv5) and anpr-rpi-standalone (automatic number plate recognition for Raspberry Pi and edge devices).
Production app: oslo.vision
BomBuilds
A Bill of Materials (BOM) management platform for hardware teams and builders. BomBuilds helps organize parts, manage builds, and keep hardware projects sane as they scale.

Outside of Work
I'm deeply into outdoor adventures in the Norwegian mountains and beyond. Ski touring, splitboarding, and cycling are my main pursuits — whether it's a dawn patrol in the Lyngen Alps, powder days in Japan, or long rides through the fjords. This blog is where I write about both worlds, and has been running since 2007.
